About Us

Ledile Textile and Fibre Processing (Pty) Ltd is a South African textile and fibre-processing company focused on developing and commercialising sustainable natural-fibre solutions, with a particular focus on industrial hemp for textile and industrial applications. Ledile's objective is to establish a commercially viable and scalable farm-to-fibre-to-textile value chain, connecting South African agricultural production with fibre processing, yarn manufacturing, weaving, knitting, dyeing, finishing and garment manufacturing.

Our approach is centred on developing local processing capability and creating a platform through which South African farmers can participate directly in the growing sustainable fibre and textile economy.

About Our Company

What Makes Us Love What We Do

Industrial hemp represents an emerging opportunity for South Africa to develop a new agricultural and industrial value chain. Ledile's focus is specifically on the industrial utilisation of hemp fibre, rather than cannabinoid or recreational applications. Our interest lies in converting hemp biomass into valuable industrial raw materials and finished textile products. South Africa has established a regulatory framework for hemp cultivation for agricultural and industrial purposes, including requirements relating to hemp varieties, cultivation and associated agricultural activities. Ledile's strategy is to connect this agricultural opportunity to downstream manufacturing.

FROM FARM TO FINISHED TEXTILE

To become a leading South African fibre-processing and sustainable textile company, developing an integrated hemp-to-textile value chain that creates economic, environmental and social value. Ledile envisions a future where South African agricultural resources are transformed locally into high-value textile products rather than primarily exporting raw agricultural material or relying on imported textile inputs.

  • Develop commercially viable industrial hemp fibre-processing solutions.
  • Build local fibre-to-textile manufacturing capacity.
  • Create markets for South African-grown natural fibres.
  • Support the development of sustainable farming communities.
  • Develop yarns and fabrics for multiple textile applications.
  • Promote local manufacturing and import substitution.
  • Develop export-ready sustainable textile products.
  • Create opportunities for SMMEs and emerging farmers.
  • Develop measurable environmental and carbon-related opportunities.
  • Build strategic partnerships across the agricultural, textile, manufacturing and investment sectors.

Ledile Textile and Fibre Processing is positioned as a B-BBEE Level 1 Contributor, subject to the company's current valid verification documentation. This positioning strengthens Ledile's ability to engage with corporate procurement departments, retailers, government entities, development institutions and organisations seeking to increase their participation with empowered South African suppliers.
